BARGOED RFC 2ND XV v HOLLYBUSH RFC 25th April 2009

Fresh from their Keith Jones Cup Final victory, Bargoed made the short journey to Hollybush for this friendly fixture. With a bare fifteen including forwards coach Mike Vaughan, they gave an excellent display of rugby scoring one try in the first half which was scored by hooker Jason Jones and converted by outside half Steffan Jones. The home sides only response was a penalty to leave the score 7-3 at half time.

Bargoed scored a further four tries in the second half with Jones getting a brace, centre Ian Jenkins another with scrum half Geraint Webb scoring the final try. Jones was successful with three conversions in the second half. However, not to be outdone, the home side scored a converted try of their own to leave the final score 33-10 to Bargoed.
